In an article for Haaretz, James Bowen, argues that Israelis cannot shirk their responsibilities towards Palestine for ever. He says that anti-semitism is no excuse for denying rights to Palestinians made homeless in 1948 and 1967. Equating the Irish experience of settler colonialism with the Palestinian case, leads him to conclude that Israelis will "overcome their dysfunctional denial of responsibility....only when Israel conforms to International Law".
James Bowen, a professor in the National University of Ireland at Cork, is national chairperson of the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
