Noteworthy excerpt from a BICOM media summary:
The Israeli papers report that no real progress was made over prisoner exchange negotiations between Israeli officials and Egyptian Intelligence Chief Omar Suleiman in Tel Aviv yesterday. Haaretz notes that French President Jacques Chirac supports the US stance that there is no point in talking with Syria while it openly supports terror activities.

INTERESTING. Of course Omar Suleiman is merely a bit player on the prisoner agreement these days - it is all in the hands of Syria. The main demand is now for the release of Marwan Barghouti and Ahmed Sa'adat. The former is presumably acceptable to Israel but the latter is not. As for the French - they are unremittently hostile to Syria these days and are of little or no significance except as "wreckers" in much the way that the same applies to Khalid Mishal and Abu Mazin these days.
